The HI96803 is a portable digital refractometer designed to measure sugar content in aqueous food samples and report results as percent glucose by weight (% w/w). It converts refractive index measurements to % glucose by weight using ICUMSA-based temperature compensation algorithms, providing fast, temperature‑compensated readings for items such as fruits, juices, energy drinks, jams, honey, soups and sauces. The instrument is simplified for field or laboratory use with two-button operation, a sealed flint glass prism and a stainless steel sample well for easy cleaning.
